Stampin Dreams Blog Hop January 2019
Hello lovelies welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. My name is Sharni Haines and I am from South Australia. I am thrilled to be part of such a talented group of stampers from all over the world, and looking forward to seeing what awesome creations everyone has created to share with you!
This month's theme is Beginner, Casual and Avid style stamping.
You may have just come from the wonderful Ximena or just started here with me. Sit back relax and enjoy the Hop!
Today I have chosen something new to me from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue, a stamp set called Nine Lives.
Being an owner of two beautiful British Blues, I had to have this set.
Here is a quick look at all three cards, designed to what I feel can appeal to the three themes of today's blog.....Beginner, Casual and Avid!
Yes, the third card is different to the first one I showed you with the Balmy Blue background but it is only a variation of what the Avid Card could look like.
BEGINNER STAMPER
This card shows how quick and easy it can be to just stamp straight onto the Whisper White Cardstock, colour it in a little with Pumpkin Pie Blends (Dark) and create a little shadow underneath the cat and bowl with the Basic Grey Marker.
Everything was stamped with Basic Grey ink as I like the softer finish than the black sometimes. I mounted the stamped images over some Pumpkin Pie Cardstock which was mounted onto Thick Whisper White card base.
CASUAL STAMPER
Here you can see some changes...I've stamped and punched out the cat and this time added a little more colour to the cat by using one of the other stamps in the set with Crumb Cake Ink. I've also fussy cut a fish and glued him onto the feeding bowl so it appears that he is in the bowl. The bowl also now has a bit of colour from my Dark Balmy Blue Blend. (I did cut the bowl out and mount it up on a dimensional for more interest.)
The cat is sitting on a Pumpkin Pie Circle cut from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies.
I've also added a little movement on the tails of the fish.
AVID STAMPER
Apologies for such a fuzzy photo, but I wanted to show you one of the options I had created for the Avid Stamper. I just placed three of the smallish circles from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies on to the Whisper White Cardstock and cut out all three circles at once.
Then using Dimensionals, adhered the card front onto the Pumpkin Pie.
The fish have all been cut out and adhered to the Pumpkin Pie Cardstock. It's hard to see here but to give the look that the fish are really in the bowl, I cut a slit in the bowl and pushed the fish through.
I have added more colour again to the cat, this time just using my Pumpkin Pie Blend (Dark).
And added a little cheeky smile to his lips.....wouldn't you smile with all those fish?
Finally, and because I could, I created an alternative to the third and final card by adding another layer of Whisper White over the top of the Pumpkin Pie.
Before I adhered this paper to the card, I used a Sponge Brayer to add a little soft ombre effect with Balmy Blue Ink.
I stamped the greeting in Pumpkin Pie and then covered it in Clear Embossing Powder to give it a little shine.
Well, that's all from me, I hope you enjoyed my card ideas and wish you a wonderful day. Thank you for visiting! Thank you for all your comments, they take me to a happy place and make me smile.
Loves and hugs,
Sharni. x
