Good day to you lovelies, have you ever wanted to add a little more interest to a set of framed photos? I love to do it and yesterday I held part one of a two day Altered Picture Frame Class where we decorated a picture frame with a whole lot of embellishments and beautiful Tea Room DSP.
I chose two of my favorite colours, pink and aqua to be the major colour palette with touches of glimmery gold as a highlight. I made use of the Daisy Delight Stamp and Punch - stamping with Bermuda Bay onto Whisper White then daubering with a little more Bermuda Bay. To make the flower fuller, I joined two sets together with dimentials after curving each petal with my Bone Folder. The bling in the middle of each flower is a Gold Faceted Gem.
The Stitched All Around Clear-Mount Bundle was among the many different stamps, dies and embellishments I used on the photo frame. To keep the colours a little softer, I stamped in Early Espresso Ink and finished off the 'love you' with a pretty Share What You Love Artisan Pearl.
Most of the wooden embellishments are from the Frames Elements I glued them on with 450 glue onto the outside of the glass.
The gorgeous dragonfly in Gold Glimmer Paper was cut out from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies.
To match the Tea Room DSP I used the Coastal Cabana/copper Ribbon from the Tea Room Ribbon Combo pack.
I cut the butterfly out with the Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies using the Team Room DSP paper. The Gold Glimmer Heart was from an old heart punch I own. The wooden hearts are from the Frames Elements.
My favourite bird stamp from Best Birds Photopolymer Stamp Set was coloured in with Stampin' Blends® Bermuda Bay, Soft Sea Foam and a touch of Daffodil Delight Light. It's stuck onto a round cut from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies and nesting on a piece of the lovely Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.
You can see more wooden embellishments here from the Frames Elements.
I love love love my punches and this new one Sprig Punch is my current fave. I punched the leaves out in Bermuda Bay. Here you can also see the pretty Coastal Cabana/copper Ribbon from the Tea Room Ribbon Combo pack again.
It's fun to be creative and make interesting and unique embellishments, here I have created some scrolls from the Tea Time DSP that I've stamped with Early Espresso Ink using the Enjoy Life Stamp Set and tied them up with Silver & Pool Party Baker's Twine. The hearts are from one of my retired die sets but there are others that could be used.
The cotton reel is outsourced as well as the black butterfly and wooden grateful saying.
I cut the Tea Time DSP into thin strips to fit around the edges of some of the out frames, sometimes I even glued them right around the frame sides to create a 'wallpaper' effect. These were glued on with the green glue.
The Gold Glitter word dream is from a retired die set. The bike is from Build A Bike Framelits Dies & Bike Ride Photopolymer Stamp Set which was stamped with Bermuda Bay & Basic Gray.
I outsourced the tiny jars and filled them with a scroll of the stamped DSP from Tea Time then tied a piece of gold twine around the top. This was glued to the frame with 450 Glue.
The butterfly is cut from Springtime Impressions Thinlits Die in Whisper White and decorated with 3 pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.
Well that's all for now, I do have more to show and tell so watch out for Part 2! And I will also show you what my clever ladies created with their kits.
This is what I used for the above project....
Look out for part 2 of this blog.
Take care,
