Hello lovelies,
do you have any old books laying about and want an idea what you can do with them?
One idea I want to share with you is turning a few pages of that old book into a fun card. I saw this fun idea on Pinterest!
Just choose your favourite colour combo, a few Blending Brushes and start brushing on some colour onto a few pages. I coloured one page with a blue (Azure Afternoon or Orchid Oasis), a green page using Granny Apple Green & Garden Green, a brown page with Copper Clay and just for fun I also did a Pumpkin Pie page.
The chosen stamp set was Bird's Eye View I just think that bird with some glasses on really suited this quirky style card.
The base of the card was Very Vanilla, layer 1 was the same colour Cardstock and I cut a third layer the same size as the second (just a little smaller than the base card).
Once the blue & green pages were coloured, I carefully ripped them into thin strips and glued them onto the layer 3 piece of Cardstock. (you can view this on my super short video HERE).
I hand drew some leafy bundles with the remaining green paper using a Black Stampin' Marker. I also die cut a frame from the Copper Clay page using the Deckled Rectangle Dies (largest & 4th largest). On a second brown page, I hand drew a tree & cut it out.
I found using darker ink colours was more effective on this off white paper.
Once all my images were drawn, I arranged them on my blue & green background - some things were mounted up higher with Adhesive Foam Strips.
This is my original card, I used the same technique, just a different bird image. The sentiment (from Rhino Stamp) and the bird image were both stamped onto a blank part of the page with Memento Black Ink. I glued both pieces onto some scrap bits of Very Vanilla Cardstock and added to the card.
I loved this technique so much that I made 3 cards in total. Each card is slightly different because the trees are hand drawn (the branches were stamped from the stamp set image).
You can see a full video tutorial on my FaceBook Live I did yesterday HERE.
Well, that 's all for now loves. I hope you have go at this technique yourself!
Thanks for dropping by, have a wonderful day and take care.
hugs,
Sharni. x
