Catalogues and Cupcakes - 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue Launch Party

Updated: Aug 25, 2019

Hello lovelies, it's been a while since I've posted as I have been rather busy.

Last weekend I hosted a couple of Catalogue Launch Parties over the weekend and even though I was exhausted by Monday, I had a ball! (And hope everyone who came did too!)

There are a lot of photos here, so perhaps grab a cup of tea and put your feet up and enjoy my story....

My lovely friend Wendy, arranged these beautiful cup cakes with these amazing edible mini catalogues on top for both days. And they were delicious! (there is raspberry inside).

So upon arrival, everyone was welcome to grab themselves a goodie bag.....

The bags were decorated with the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle to make the flower, , stamped with the Fanciful Fragrance Cling Stamp Set and the tag was created with the new Delightful Tag Topper Punch, that was held onto the bag with some new in colours Scalloped Linen Ribbon.

....and a lucky cup...(each one had a number on the bottom and when I called out a number, the person would win a door prize) - there was a pair of Blends in the new Pretty Peacock Colour, a ribbon sample and some chocolate.

Once all settled, we got to work...there were 3 make n take cards and one 3D item.....

Two cards were my original designs and the third (top one) was CASED from the wonderful Ellen Woodbridge.

Card one - was made using the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin and a piece of Bird Ballad DSP glued behind it.

Card two - I used the Magnolia Lane Memories & More Large Specialty Cards & Envelopes - it's a great way to make quick and pretty cards. The pack has enough cards and envelopes to make 20 cards. The DSP was from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. We stamped the magnolia onto the envelope using the Stampartus.

Card three - was the Daisy Lane Bundle and the letters were from the Well Written Dies.

Being a crazy bird lover, the 3D item was a bird house...perfect for showing off this beautiful Bird Ballad DSP! I have already used up almost two packs and had to order some more!

The house itself was made using the retired Baker's Box, I cut out two large holes with dies and punch two smaller ones with a hole punch to thread a bit of wooden dowel right through the middle of the house to create a purch.

The nest inside is made from coconut fibre. I added an egg and a t-light. I attached a bow made from the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon.

What I love about this house is there was no need to colour in anything...it's all from the DSP, I just cut it out!

The stamped sentiments are from the Free as a Bird Stamp.

The edges were sponged with Soft Suede to give the house an aged effect.

Even birds need a back door.

Everyone received a Mini Shipping Box as part of their goodies, inside was a gift voucher and a chocolate treat. The boxes were wrapped up with a mix of the new dsp papers, tags made from the Delightful Tag Topper Punch and stamped with the Delightful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. You may just be able to see the washi tape on top of the boxes.

These are the cute little critters that were inside the boxes. They are from the We'll Walrus Be Friends Cling Stamp Set. I coloured them in with some Blends and stuck them onto some chocolate patties.

Around the craft studio, I had displays of cards and projects from the new catalogue...

...lots of stamp sets and ideas to show.

During the day, I gave out door prizes every half hour...which was a lot of fun and kept everyone on their toes as sometimes there were questions from the catalogue...(it's amazing how quick some of these clever ladies are!!) Especially little Eris pictured here in front...I asked how many petals are on a roll of Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape and she knew 100 straight away!....someone was listening!! LOL.

On both days I had guess how many lolly snakes were in the jar....and would you believe, both lucky ladies - Lee and Wendy who won - also won the same game last year!!!

Once all the card making was finished, it was time to party....here is the wonderful Wendy helping me with last touches to the cupcakes....

The dessert table set up and ready to go....

My colour theme for the day, as can be seen was aqua ( Bermuda Bay ) and gold.

The little treat holders I found ready made - I decorated them with the cutest stamp set I've ever owned... New Wonders Cling Stamp Set.

These sweet fairies were coloured in with my Blends and mounted onto some Gold Foil Sheets.

These gorgeous biscuits were made by Wendy..it was a surprise and I just loved them! (we all did!)

And just because she could...she did!! Yup, Wendy made more biscuits...isn't she amazing! I was so appreciative and amazed.

I decorated the bird cages with cut out birds from the Bird Ballad DSP.

I would also like to thank Kelly and give her a big hug for making her famously delicious Macarons....I forgot to take a photo of them...they were so fat and tasty with the best salted caramel cream inside...they didn't last long. Thank you gorgeous! (Kelly is at the front of Tina)

My little faery showing her face again - this time on a take home treat of Turkish Delight.

We didn't just eat sweet things.... I actually served pulled beef on brioche burgers with coleslaw.

Of course Charlie Girl had to join in the party...she does love her craft aunties.

...well I think this sums it up...I would like to thank everyone who helped me (Wendy for the cupcakes and beautiful biscuits & Kelly for the macarons - you are both amazing!!)

And for all the lovely ladies who came along and supported my little business and made the days so special!

Incase you were wondering what was the first thing I did once the party was finished....I sat down and enjoyed some cake!! And yes, it was fabulous!

Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoyed my story of my special weekend.

loves and hugs,

Sharni. x
