Hello lovelies,
welcome to the weekend, hopefully you will or have had a chance to enjoy some 'me' time...maybe sit back, relax and watch some movies, cook up something delicious, read a book or like me, have some fun in your craft space?
My orders arrived over the last few days and I have to say it was almost a little overwhelming - so many lovely packages to open and look at, so many ideas that came to mind...and so little time to achieve everything I wanted to. I have calmed down now somewhat, and I am TRYING to prioritise. (meaning get some work done as well as play with my new toys!)
One of the first things that caught my eye - and this was a complete surprise to me, was the wonderful Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper (DSP). It's really bright and has some great backgrounds and I like the colours used too.
So, I went ahead a made another one of my Peek a Boo Cards using the whole Whale of a Time Suite. You may have seen the number 5 on the front of the card, I have plans to send this card half way across the world to a little boy (whom I have never met) who is celebrating his 5th Birthday in the States (USA). He is unable to have a birthday party due to the social distancing restrictions but apparently LOVES to receive cards so I thought I would try to help make his day a little special.
I used Pool Party Cardstock for the whole card and the Granny Apple Green for the circle borders.
The seaweed is stamped with Pretty Peacock. To get a deeper finish for the sentiment and the turtle, I actually stamped with Pretty Peacock then quickly covered the image with Clear Embossing Powder and set it with my heat gun.
Can you see the beautiful colours of the new Whale of a Time Sequins? They are sooo pretty, I can see myself using these for lots of other projects.
The whale was punched out from the DSP (Designer Series Paper) using the Whale Builder Punch. (tip - if you attach a piece of sticky post it note th your image, it creates a tag you can hold onto while punching out the image).
I sponged on a little bit of Pretty Peacock Ink around the whale. I also used the Seabed Embossing 3D Folder to give the background some more interest.
A close up of this amazing embossed paper.
Well, I think I am going to have a bit more fun with this Suite!
Here is a quick view of the card in action...
