Hello lovelies, I just got back from a wonderful trip to Sydney with my hubby for Stampin Up's! Onstage event. Like always, it was awesome...fantastic new products, freebees, beautiful swaps & gifts, updates, make n takes and best of all, the chance to catch up with and meet new friends. There are so many lovely people that attend these events and it's always so special to see them in person.
Anyway, more about my weekend later (another blog!) Today I would really like to share with you a mini photo album that I created as a 'one off'...so no tutorial (sorry) using the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.
It has been sitting on my display shelf for a while, totally blank just waiting to be filled with photos, a story for someone special.
On November 2019, (day of the dead) a special couple Stephanie & Rafael got married in our garden. Rafael is the son of some very close friends. Stephanie's parents came over from Mexico to attend and I decided to use this album for some lovely memories and as a small gift to Stephanie's beautiful parents.
The cover is not strictly Stampin'Up! (oops!) but just bits and pieces I had in my scrapbooking collection from over the years.
The flowers were however sponged with Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin' Pads so they could coordinate with the gorgeous paper underneath.
The ribbon is Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon, and it is hard to see with this photo, but I have actually embossed a piece of Petal Pink Cardstock with a retired script imprint and then sponged Petal Pink ink over the top for highlights.
The book is held closed with a magnet latch.
Here is a short video of the album. Details about each page is below.
PAGES 1-2
Both pages have a pocket underneath the front panels. These are designed to hold smaller tags for more photos a place for journaling or any wedding memorabilia.
The ribbons on the ends of the tags are Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon which I tied off with a piece of Linen Thread.
PAGES 3-4
Page 3 has another pocket that can hold quite a large tag. There is a piece of Pretty Peacock Scalloped Linen Ribbon used as a trim between the main photo and the pocket.
Page 4 has a pocket opening at the top this time, the tag actually opens and can display photos on four sides.
PAGES 5-6
Page 5 has a top pocket that holds two narrow long tags. I used Purple Posy Cardstock and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake.
Page 6 has a side pocket that holds a tag folded in half so it has four sides.
PAGES 7-8
These two pages are the centre of the album and mirror each other. I used Pretty Peacock Cardstock for the matting underneath the photos.
There is a pocket on both sides for tags.
PAGE 7
The front photo mats actually open to hold two more photos inside. They are held shut with magnets.
PAGE 8
I made small tags from the Pretty Peacock Scalloped Linen Ribbon so it was easier to open these flaps.
PAGES 9-10
I created waterwall flaps on both of these pages, held down by magnets.
Page 10 has one photo of the bride's parents Marta & Alberto. I left the rest blank so they can add their own favorite memories of the Wedding.
I added a small tag using the Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon at the bottom of the waterfall design.
PAGES 11-12
Both pages open out from the middle - where the ribbon tabs are.
PAGE 11
This is what is inside page 11, a double fold out.
PAGE 12
This page opens exactly the same as page 11.
PAGE 12
When the large flap is closed, the two smaller flaps can be opened (on the front of the page).
The stamps I used to decorate were from the Very Versailles Cling Stamp Set.
PAGE 13-14
These are the last two pages and I have left them blank...so they can be used for anything.
I forgot to get the measurements of this album before I gave it away, (oops) so I apologise for that.
Guessing from the 6x4" photos I used, I can probably estimate it was about ?10"x 6".
The cover would have been larger than that.
Next year I am holding a retreat over the weekend in October and we will be making a larger album than this using the Free as a Bird DSP (very excited!) This is fully booked, but I do sometimes hold Mini Photo Album Classes at The Maples and will most likely host another Mini Album retreat in the future.
