Pocket Fold Card

Hello lovelies,

ever thought of making a cute & fun Pocket Fold Card?

I have just finished making 31 of them! and it took me a day and a bit, but I was very happy with the outcome. They are a great way to create something pretty, different and without much if any waste.

This project was inspired by Phoebe Tonosaki 戸ノ崎ホイリン Mixed Media Artist & Instructor who made the most beautiful envelopes and boxes with Mintay papers.

The hardest part was covering up the gorgeous Peony Garden Paper by Mintay!

First start with a piece of paper 12" x 6", score along the long side at 3" & 8".

Fold & burnish with a bone folder for a crisp edge.

Cut a small doily in half and glue as shown on the photo above.

Then add a velcro button to the flaps so it closes when folded shut.

Cut a pocket with a piece of paper 6"x 3-1/2", Score 1/2" inch on 3 sides - leaving the top unscored. Fold, burnish and glue the tabs.

Place the pocket in the middle of the opened card between the 2 score lines, ensuring there is enough space at the top ot the pocket to slip things in and out easily. Decorate the pocket however you like. I used a butterfly button and a paperclip with some ribbon.

These pockets are big enough to hold a small flat chocolate treat.

I die cut an envelope (from my stash) with vellum and added that to the bottom part of the card.

I didn't show it here, but then I added a sweet little note in the envelope.

I finished off the cards with some Die Cuts that coordinate with the Paper Collection and some quote I printed on the computer.

Each card is different, but carries the same messages.

Here are some of the 3"x 4" cards that I added to the pockets.

I have a live demonstration on Facebook & Instagram to see how I made them made.

Well, that's all for now, I hope I have given you some inspiration and perhaps another way to use up some of that paper of yours!

Don't forget, we are hosting a fabulous event in October using the beautiful Mintay Papers...
