Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop February 2023 - Travel

Hello lovelies,

I'm Sharni Haines from South Australia and welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Design Team's monthly blog hop. Every month we have a new challenge or theme. You are more than welcome join us! I have been absent for a few months but I am back!

This month we are creating a page about Travel. This is my theme, and I purposely chose it because I was away overseas last year for a total of about 4 months (ahhh) and knew I would have hopefully some great photos of my trips.

One of the amazing places we visited in July 2022, was a special part in the northern mountains of Italy, Madonna di Campiglio in Trento. We went there especially for our eldest child, Angus's Orienteering competition.

Once I developed my photos, I knew instantly what Designer Series Paper I wanted to use.

ENJOY THE JOURNEY 12" X 12" (30.5 X 30.5 CM) DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

The mountain theme and colours were perfect for this enlarged photo.

I used the Nature's Prints Bundle to create the major embellishments. I used a blending brush to add Garden Green & Granny Apple Green onto Shimmery Paper then stamped images and die cut the foliage images you can see on the finished page.

You may notice I stamped script over a lot of the page (including the photos). This is from Ranunculus Romance. The dots were from Quiet Meadow. I used He's All That Stamp Set to make a compass (Orienteering theme).

The bees are from Honey Bee Home Bundle, coloured in with Watercolour Pencils.

The gold embellishments are the Brushed Metallic Adhesive - Backed Dots. And the clear ones are Iridescent Rhinestones basic Jewels. I ruffled up the edges of the Designer Paper and glued it over the top of a sheet of Basic White 12"x 12" that I had inked with Garden Green and stamped with the script image.

So here is the completed page. I'd love to make a matching page in the near future, as I have more spectacular photos of the area and stories to tell about Angus's amazing competition.
