Welcome lovelies to Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop for February 2019. I'm thrilled be be part of this special group of passionate and talented Scrapbookers! I'm Sharni Haines from Australia and have been Scrapbooking for many years...but really have just got my mojo back to creating some new pages in the last few months.
You may have started here or have just hopped from the very talented Denise Cox from Canada.
The theme, Love and Marriage caught my eye because just recently, my husband and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary and I thought it would be a great opportunity to create something special to honor our wonderful life together.
Yes there is some history behind these two photos! We have lived in three homes, been to university (sometimes at the same campus) backpacked around the world, started a business, had two children, cats, dogs, and lots of garden parties!
Graeme and met when I was just in high school and we haven't looked back. We have our ups and downs like everyone, but our bond and love for one another has kept things strong.
We were married at Carrick Hill, South Australia in a beautiful garden underneath the pleached pear arch - December 18th 1993.
I used Very Vanilla 12x12" cardstock as my base and just built up layers to fit a 6x4 standard photo on top. Sounds easy? It was. There are no rules to scrapbooking and I find as long as you have a colour palette & theme chosen, then the rest will just fall into place.
I used a lot of different stamp sets for these two pages, so I will just mention a few and hopefully have all of them listed at the end in my products list for you if interested. But really, all you need is some interesting 'grungy type' stamps that have dots, splash effects etc and I'm noticing a lot of these finishes are now included in many SU stamp sets.
As you may notice, I tore or curled a lot of the sides of the papers. This time because I wanted a cleaner finish, I didn't sponge any edges. I also used some of the wooden embellishments from the current SAB offer. (butterfly elements)
I only used two colours to stamp with, Smokey Slate and Old Olive. Sometimes I stamped off before stamping to give a softer image. I used the new Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and ripped the paper to give it a more shabby finish.
The stamped saying here is from Special Celebrations as are the smaller cut pieces I have placed around the edges of the photos on both pages. I used Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies as a back and foreground around the photos for a little delicate finish.
The leaves are from the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies - used with Pear Pizzazz A4 Cardstock.
The 25 was embossed from the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and cut out from retired numbers.
I have used Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper here and there as tiny accents and Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper as a backdrop to many spots.
Well that's all from me!
I'm looking forward to seeing more scrapbooking pages on this particular theme because it is a special one! And something we probably don't do as much as we should. Thank you for visiting me. I hope I had some useful tips and ideas for you.
I'd like to thank Sara Levin for inviting me to join her fun Blog Hop!
For more great ideas and inspiration keep on Hoping to see the rest of the team's wonderful work!

Sharni, I adore all the textures you've used together on this page. Beautiful!
Such a gorgeous 2-page layout. So elegant and love the way you used the wedding photo and a photo 25 years later! So neat!
