Hello lovelies,
welcome to the Social Stamping Blog hosted by the wonderful Kelly Kent!
I'm Sharni Haines from South Australia, I have joined a group of Demonstrators brought together by Kelly. We are from all over who wish to help everyone connect through our art and passion of stamping and paper crafting. This month the theme is CHANGE. This is an interesting one, because we are all going through quite a big one at the moment! Everyone will have a different interpretation to what this word means to them - there is no doubt we have all had to adjust and change something in our day to day habits and lifestyles.
Some people have had a massive change due to the way we do our jobs (ie working from home, online conferences, craft classes, shopping etc) there is also the sad reality of job loss, less contact with family and friends and even just the changes we need to make when going to the supermarket or cafes.
A lot of things change during our lifetime, and as a general rule...humans don't always like change! But after a while, we become more familiar with it and start to accept it. (most things!) Hopefully we will adapt to our changing world for the better and all benefit in the long run.
You may have started here, or come from the talented Siobhan Fitzsimmons. If you get lost ot the link is broken, you can always go to Kelly's blog to find the other participants.
I decided to make a card that looks one way...then it changes into something else....
It's a sliding card. The tutorial how I made it is here...I made the video over a year ago, but the principle and instructions are basically the same.
This is how the card looks when the slider is pulled open...
The card base is Seaside Spray Cardstock, and the stamp set is From All of Us. I thought it was a symbolic way to show caring and kindness through togetherness....even though we can't actually hug or kiss our loved ones much right now.
I used the new Cinnamon Cider Blends to colour in the bear, it's a lovely brown. The monkey was Grey Granite. I had fun making something bright and happy and hopefully you enjoyed seeing it too!
Well, that's all for now. Thank you for visiting and have a fabulous day!
Loves & hugs,
Sharni. x
