Hello lovelies welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. This month we are creating and sharing Birthday Cards.
You may have started here or come from the wonderful Anastasia Radloff
I'm Sharni Haines from Australia and I have a really fun and interactive Birthday Card to show you. I designed and made this Birthday card for a lovely lady who hopefully has received this card by post by now - as I don't want to spoil the surprise!
I am calling this a Double Slider Card - it may already have a name, but I thought that was the easiest way to describe it! Instead of having just one object slide up and down the card, I cut two slits so I could have two objects. (a frog holding a birthday cake & a birthday greeting!)
The frog is from So Hoppy Together - my favourite Sail-A-Bration freebie! I coloured him in with the Blends ( Old Olive combo & Daffodil Delight).
The ribbon used as a pulley at the top is new beautiful Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green Reversible Ribbon.
This is what it looks like when you pull the pulley, a frog and a birthday greeting slide up the card - they were hiding in the foliage. A sweet surprise!
The leaves are from the Tropical Chic Stamp Set and I inked them using my Uniniked Spectrum Pad. (Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Granny Apple Green, Mint Macaron & Soft Sea Foam.) This gives the leaves a lovely ombre effect.
The cake was stamped and punched out with the Piece of Cake Bundle (stamp & punch). I coloured it in with Rich Razzleberry & Smokey Slate Blends.
All the greetings were stamped with Perennial Birthday and I used Basic Grey Ink (it's my new Black at the moment!)
They were cut out with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.
I also stamped inside the card to keep the tropical happy theme going.
One more thing I wanted to mention - it's hard to see, but I have stuck some Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets onto the frogs eyes to make them stand out a little more and a dotted a few of the droplets onto some of the leaves to give a dewy effect. I also put some glitter on top of the cake icing.
I have made a tutorial video to show how I made the card.
Well that's all from me, I hope you gained some inspiration and wish you a wonderful creative day. Thanks for visiting!
