Hello lovelies,
I am Sharni Haines from Australia, welcome to our Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month we are looking at something so exciting, I can hardly wait to see...a sneak peak into the new catalogue for 2012-2022!
This catalogue goes live May 4th. If you want to order from me and don't have a catalogue, please leave me a message and I can send one to you in Australia for free.
I have made 4 cards, 3 different ways, stepping it up each time.
I have chosen to use one of the Host Stamps today. They are at the back of the Catalogue - page 170. It is called Prince & Princess. You can only purchase this stamp set when you order $250 Aust or over before shippping, and it's only $17.
BEGINNER CARD
1. The first way is designed for the Beginner, or what I like to also think of as simple & quick stamping. For those who like clean, simple and quick cards using very a little amount of product.
First I cut a second piece of Basic White Cardstock and stamped some reeds with the new In Colour - Soft Succulent Ink, then adhered it to the base card. I stamped, coloured in and cut out the toad, then mounted it onto the card with some Stampin' Dimensionals.
CASUAL STAMPER
2. Second is designed for the Casual Stamper who has a little more time, more products and likes to try out and use some different techniques.
I steped it up a little by adding some matting of the new In Colour Evening Evergreen Cardstock, added a few more reeds (cut out) and embossed the sentiments with White Embossing powder.
AVID STAMPER
3. Third is for the Avid Stamper who has the time, an extensive collection of products and a little more experience or likes a challenge!
For this card, I added a layer of the new Designer Series Paper - Hand Penned.
The colours just seemed to go so well with the new green In Colours.
I was having so much fun with this cheeky toad, that I made a 4th card...
What I really like about it is the tiny little crown! Squeal! I can see myself using this crown for all kinds of cards. The toad and swan are sweet for baby cards or birthdays and the sentiments are pretty useful too.
I stamped the images, coloured them in with Stampin' Blends and cut them out. The sentiments were stamped with VersaMark and embossed with White Embossing Powder.
I used some of the new Stampin' Blends for the Lilly pads - Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. The eyes on the toad were coloured in with the new Pale Papaya (all three are in the new In Colours for 2021/23).
The toad's belly was Ivory and Crumb Cake, the spots were the other new greens I previously mentioned.
The background was created using Stampin' Blends and 100% Isopropyl Alcohol. I just learned how to do that today before creating the card as I wanted to have a watery looking background and always wanted to try that technique!
I got instructions and ideas from two very lovely and talented Australian Demonstrators - Michele Jutrisa and Bronwyn Easterly. They both have great video tutorials on how to get a similar finish that I achieved today. No two backgrounds will ever look the same!
When I made my background, I did a mix of the two tutorials... maybe one day I will show you when I have the time!
And I will likely give a class on it at The Maples in the upcoming months, so look out for it!
I used a mix of Night of Navy, Shaded Spruce & Misty Moonlight. Both light and dark, the darker colours do look stronger and more effective as the colours lift and lighten once you add the alcohol.
So there you have it...something new to look forward to from the new 2021/22 Stampin'Up! Annual Catalogue.
That's all for now, thank you very much for dropping in I hope you have a wonderful day! A big thank you to Sara for hosting this hop. Don't forget to keep on hopping around to see what everyone else has to show you...I am looking forward to it myself!
Loves and hugs,

Gorgeous cards, Sharni! Love the layers and all of the little details!
What a fun set of cards, you've made me look at that set in a completely different way!
Your cards are just so amazing. I especially love the last one. I never tried that with Stampin' Blends. But the background is so nice and looks gorgeous with the frog. Thank you a lot for showing!
