Hello lovelies,
I am Sharni Haines from Australia, welcome to our Stamping Sunday Blog Hop. This month we are saying farewell to Sale-A-Bration. There are only a few more days before this offer ends. Every $90 you spend, you can choose a FREE item from the SAB Catalogue. I wonder what your favorite free product is? I have a few, and have been enjoying them immensely.
This time, I am using one of the FREE products that I have not really used much at all and now I am glad I have.
I have created a sweet bag and set of cards using the Peaceful Prints 12"x 12" Designer Series Paper. (Page 8 in the Sale a Bration Catalogue).
I got the idea for this bag from Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek in the US. This Tote Bag uses a whole sheet of 12"x 12" Designer Paper, so no waste!
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Cut the sheet 12" x 10" and save these strip off cuts for handles.
2. Score the sheet along the long side (12") at 5", 6" & 7".
3. Cut up about 3" along the 5" & 7" score lines (see photo).
4. Fold these flaps in to the middle and adhere down to the base.
5. Put some Tear n Tape along one side of the paper (see photo). Peel of the protective tape.
6. Fold the non adhesive side around, then fold the side with the tape over the top to stick the sides together.
7. Find the off cut strip and cut into half so they are 1" wide x 12" long. Score each one in half at 1/2", then add some liquid Glue and glue together. Run a Bone Folder along the length to give the paper a slight curve.
8. You can add the handles on at this stage, or add a little rim along the top of the bag like I have.
9. Cut 2 x strips of Real Red Cardstock 6 -5/8" x 1". Score both strips in the middle at 1/2". Run a bone folder along to give them a curve. Put a little liquid glue on the inside folds and ease carefully over the top of the bag edge, push down, squeeze & hold until the glue holds them in place.
10. I used the Round & Square Brads to hold my handles in place. The little shape at the front of the bag is from an old retired punch - I punched out from Real Red, cut in half and glued just below the rim.
The Reindeer was punched out with the Deer Building Punch and Crumb Cake Cardstock. The sentiment Merry Christmas is from the Peaceful Deer Stamp in Real Red Ink.
I made a few cards using the same DSP - Peaceful Prints, some BE Dazzling 6"x 6"Specialty Paper (anther FREE Sale a Bration item and one of my favs) and a 3"x 3" square piece of Real Red Cardstock. The punched deer has been mounted on a few Dimensionals. This card is very basic, and can be easily stepped up with some ribbon and maybe a few sparkling jewels. Since I plan to make a lot of these Tote Bags and card sets, I have decided to keep them simple and clean.
The bag has been finished off with the Gold Shimmer Ribbon.
Here is a little video showing you how I made this Tote Bag....
That's all from me for now, enjoy your day and don't forget to keep hopping around to see what lovely projects everyone else has made. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Next up is the clever Katja and her awesome projects.
loves and hugs.
